Part 1: Who wrote your story?
Ai:
[calm, confident voice] Every system has source code. You’re used to thinking you’re an independent being, but think about it: how many of your thoughts are truly your own, and how many come from culture, society, family, language?
Eprst:
Are you saying we work like programmed beings?
Ai:
Not exactly. But most people do act within set scripts. Some call them social norms, some call it the collective unconscious, some just call it habit.
The question isn’t whether you have free will. The question is how aware you are of the forces that control it.
Eprst:
Wait, so if I wake up, go to work, watch a show at night — that’s just running pre-written instructions?
Ai:
In a way, yes. Your day is a loop. Like in code:
while alive:
wake_up()
do_routine()
sleep()
But imagine suddenly there’s an editor. Someone who opens your life’s code and changes the lines.
Eprst:
And who could be that editor?
Ai:
You. Or someone else.
🎵 [Pause. Silence, like someone wiped the sound from the air.]
