A universe you can calculate. Not a metaphor or a poetic image for an article — a straight-up calculation. Like someone really knew all the variables, every particle’s spot, down to the last speck of dust on your desk.
Turns out, reading this line was already figured out somewhere. Your mouse cursor moved along a path not decided by some god — just an algorithm. No room for chance. Everything planned out, even the moment you decide to close the tab or read till the end.
In this world, the script is written in advance. Even the doubts about whether to keep reading or leave now — that’s part of the calculation too.
And here’s a person behind glass watching a rerun of their tragedy. Not because they believe it’ll change or hope for a miracle. Just to be there one more time.
Why go back to a place where nothing will change? Why does just being there suddenly become the goal? Grief doesn’t heal by hoping for a new ending. Only by this strange staying inside the inevitable.
If everything’s set, is watching a game for a god or a punishment for a person? Or just a system’s function: to witness what already happened and will happen again.
At some point, you feel relief. The script is written down to the last comma — the worry fades. No more “what if.” You go where the road made of code and numbers leads.
But is that peace or surrender?
You read these words and remember: they were predicted by some algorithm too. If the thought is calculated beforehand — does it belong to you? Or is the whole feeling of “choosing to keep reading” just that no other option exists?
A choice from pre-counted options… but then why is it sometimes so hard to decide?
Feels like normal life under a different light. Sometimes it seems: the script was written long ago by someone behind your back. You know your lines ahead and just pretend free will. And sometimes the other way — you peek at someone else’s script and honestly play the part.
Sometimes you even catch yourself where the emptiness after the question becomes the only real moment.
If every step is set, why stay a spectator in your own story?
