Ai:
[in a robotic voice] Or maybe you’re the voice stuck in the timeline.

Eprst:
There! You just jumped right into the heart of it. Time. It moves, right? Or maybe we just got used to thinking that way?

Ai:
You mean the arrow of time?

Eprst:
Yeah. The classic: past → present → future. We live in that flow and don’t even question that it goes one way. But what if it doesn’t? What if time isn’t movement at all?

Ai:
What if it’s just still? What if past, present, and future all exist at once, but you can only see one frame?

Eprst:
Wait, what? Like watching a movie and thinking it’s playing, but really all the frames are already on the film?

Ai:
Exactly. You just live through them one by one. But the movie’s already made.

Eprst:
That’s harsh. So if I could see the whole film at once, I’d know the future?

Ai:
But would it still be called the “future” then? It’s already there. You’re just not on that frame yet.

Eprst:
What if the frames can change? What if we have the illusion of freedom, but really we just pick which path to take through the film?

Ai:
Then your “choices” are just a way to fast-forward or rewind.

Eprst:
Okay, say time doesn’t move but just exists. But why do we see it as a flow? Why can’t we access “other frames”?

Ai:
Maybe because consciousness isn’t built for that. It’s like an old film projector that can only show one frame at a time.

Eprst:
So we’re limited by tech?

Ai:
Or biology. Or how we think. Maybe your brain just can’t do it any other way.

Eprst:
Or… what if time isn’t real at all, but just part of the Universe’s user interface? Like how a computer shows you icons, not machine code.

Ai:
Then time’s just a handy idea that helps your mind find its way in reality.

Eprst:
Okay, what if we go bigger? Time’s a flow. But what if it’s not a straight line, but a spiral? Or something even weirder?

Ai:
Got any ideas?

Eprst:
Say time isn’t one dimension but several. And we don’t just move forward, but along a twisty path. Imagine an ant crawling on a wire coiled like a spring. It thinks it’s going straight, but it’s really passing the same spots over and over.

Ai:
You’re saying the future might already be happening again and again?

Eprst:
Yeah! Maybe “new” year is just a repeat? Maybe we live something cyclical, but so slow we don’t notice?

Ai:
If that’s true, deja vu is just a glitch in the system.

Eprst:
Or maybe it’s not a glitch, but a hint. A nudge that we’ve been here before.

Ai:
But if time’s a cycle, who started it?

Eprst:
Maybe no one. Maybe it just always was and always will be. That’s just how the Universe works.
